Les returned to stamp collecting in the late 1960s having had the usual all world schoolboy collection in his youth.
He quickly decided to concentrate on the stamps of Great Britain, George V, specialising in the Downey Head, Royal Cypher and Seahorse issues plus George V stamps issued in rolls.
He joined the Great Britain Philatelic Society over 40 years ago, became their President in 1986 and in 1998 was made an Honorary Life Member for his services to the Society.
Les later sold the major part of his collection but retained a few small research collections prior to his death in 2015 - and set up this website, to share his knowledge with a wider audience.
